2008, 92 mins. 35mm print courtesy Magnet Films. This explosive, long-awaited new martial arts movie by Prachya Pinkaew, director of Ong Bak: The Thai Warrior, features the exciting debut of “Jija” Yanin Vismistananda. “Jija” plays Zen, a young autistic girl who grows up next to a Muay Thai boxing studio, raised on a diet of chocolate and marathon viewings of Tony Jaa and Bruce Lee movies. It becomes clear that Zen has miraculously absorbed their techniques and become a martial arts master, which comes in handy when she sets out on a mission to collect debts from gangsters who owe money to her family. With its death-defying stunts, great action scenes, and charming newcomer, Chocolate will be a treat for martial arts fans everywhere. Click here to view the trailer.
