DARE by Fabrica
Through October 26, 2003
Designed for Moving Image by Fabrica, Benetton's design and communication research center in Treviso,
Italy, DARE showcases four computer-based artworks: Draw, Face, Grid, and Model.
Visitors to the exhibition input images, gestures, and drawings, and those interactions serve as the basis for the
continually evolving installation. The title DARE refers to both the Italian verb "to give" and the English
verb "to be bold."

According to Andy Cameron, Creative Director of New Media at Fabrica,
"DARE is concerned with time and authorship, and the way these
define the difference between two forms of representationnarrative
storytelling and gameplaying. DARE connects the 'now' of
play with the 'then' of narrative, and, in doing so, blurs the line between
author and audience." DARE was designed by Andy Cameron along with Ross Philips and Andy Hundington.

DARE is presented with support from Benetton.
