Dir. Brian De Palma. 1981, 108 mins. DCP. With John Travolta, Nancy Allen, John Lithgow, Dennis Franz. John Travolta gives one of his strongest performances as a sound recordist in De Palma’s ambitious variation on Michelangelo Antonioni’s Blow Up. This darkly comic political thriller features some of De Palma’s most elaborate location photography, including a lavish grand finale set amidst Philadelphia’s Liberty Day celebration.
